Ver van Huis is the life story of Maria Goolkate – Tschaban. As a young girl, she was deported from her native village in present-day Ukraine to the Ruhr region to perform forced labour for the Germans during World War II. At the end of the war, she arrived in Enschede in a very special way. From then on, all her life she lived in Enschede.
