As a visual artist, I’m inspired by the raw beauty of daily life. I like to work as an eyewitness, creating (moving) images: documentaries, photographs and video installations.
My work focusses on the often unseen small pleasures in life. It’s about “coming home” at your own pace and rhythm and in your own time.
I’m inspired by my mothers motto in life: “as long as you live a ‘geneugluk’ life”. ’Geneugluk’ is a word from the Twents dialect. For me it’s hard to translate in English or Dutch or any other language because it’s much more that just a word. It’s a feeling, a mood, a way of living that is represented in my visual work.
